This specialty transport team consists of a Cardiovascular Critical Care Nurse, Flight Nurse, Paramedic and Pilot. A VAD can assist a failing left or right ventricle…or both (a BiVad). It is a bridge until the patient’s own ventricle recovers or the patient receives a heart transplant. The transport VAD runs off electricity and also has a battery. In case of total power failure, a foot pump is available for back up. | Return Home | Our Services | Great Links | LifeLine Store | FAQ Page | Photo Album | Fax of Life | Contact Us | Our Bases | |
